I’ll be the first to take the blame on this one. I washed my PM15 jersey for the first time last week, I know there has been other losses since I’ve owned the jersey but, I feel the magic of a possible undefeated season falls solely on my shoulders. Other credit can go to Frank Reich and his blueprint on handling the Chiefs. Own the line of scrimmage and run run run the damn ball. The “revamped” Chiefs D looked like Randy Reid’s Pop Warner team out there against a competent O-Line. Unless the Chiefs can figure this out it may go from a dream season to a nightmare in a hurry. The Chiefs were outmanned and outgunned in every facet of the 19-13 loss. We need help along offensive line, at linebacker, and at corner and I think GM Brett Veach needs to take some heat for not addressing these needs via the draft. I honestly think the Chiefs will be fine if they can get healthy but needless to say NFL head coaches just seen the how to video on handling the Chiefs in their current condition and it was not pretty for fans of the Kingdom.
I’ll be honest this game scares me. Deshaun Watson can make plays all over the field. This is an offense that just scored 53 points but also gave up 32. You can probably expect some fireworks in this one. I’ll continue to be the homer and pick the Chiefs in 38-35 win but it would not be a surprise if it went the other way.
This week we had our first reader provided tasting from my good buddy James in Houston. He sent me an amazing bag of beans and wanted to give him a shout out for that. We tried Costa Rica Sonora Honey from Boomtown Coffee and it was a hit. Strong nutty and caramel aromas right out of the bag and through the grinder. Big bold bakers chocolate on the front end of the palate and light lemon and tangerine notes towards the back that makes this a very unique and slightly complex brew. The honey processing where this guy gets his name allows for a slightly sweet brown sugar like swallow that is very easy drinking. There is nothing off putting at all about this brew. Great job Boomtown and thank you James for sending this my way, I owe you some KC beans in the very near future.
