It wasn’t pretty or anywhere near where this writer predicted. It may have been the worst the Chiefs have looked over the past 2 seasons but at the end of the day the Chiefs went on the road in a hostile environment, played no where near their level of football and came away with a NFL win. That’s what championship football teams do. Though I have my concerns, and I think I will address those with a quarter season rundown post later this week, this team showed some moxie when it mattered and that should leave all in Chiefs Kingdom excited for the remainder of this season. Game ball goes to Travis Kelce with a solid stat line and just the football where with all to make a heads up play that was SC Top 10 worthy. I’m impressed to see how much he has matured into a professional football player. Also props to my boy Byron “Pinball” Pringle for his second career NFL reception where he got bounced around inside the 10 and held on to the ball.
This week we enter the second quarter of the football season and take on a 2-2 Indianapolis Colts team. Many before the start of the year this could be a dark horse Super Bowl team. Yet expectations dampened a bit with surprise retirement of Andrew Luck. This is still a very capable team to come in to Arrowhead and give the Chiefs a game. There is some depletion of depth in their secondary because of injury and this game is in Primetime so I think the Chiefs will come out victorious. Last week I got a little carried away with my prediction, I do think that the Chiefs win pretty handily, PM15 has proven to shine his brightest on the biggest stages. I feel the Chiefs win this 38-21 behind the big arm of our MVP QB.
Our tasting review this week comes from Tinker Coffee Co. Costa Rica-El Rodeo Honey and boy howdy does that word honey easily describe this one. Out of the bag just sweet aromas of molasses and candy roasted nuts, almonds, pecans, and cashews hit the nose immediately and follow through after being ran through the grinder. The sweetness continues after brewing with big notes of brown sugar and baked pastries. Strong fruitiness of plums and peaches with thin layer of oil on top makes cup go down so easy. This is an easy drinking cup of coffee, one that could easily be enjoyed in the late afternoon or on Sunday evening while watching the Chiefs and Colts. This may be the smoothest brew I have tried on this coffee journey so far. Very solid from first sip to final drop. If you want to give it a try check Tinker out at below. Household MVP goes to my wife Melissa for her generosity in getting us some Chiefs mugs to help liven up the blog, she’s the best. Remember to enjoy your coffee responsibly and Go Chiefs!
